Acceptable Use Policy

AI-assisted writing tools can be misused. This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the conduct we consider unacceptable on ToolsforWriting.com and is part of our Terms of Service. Violating it is a material breach that can lead to immediate suspension or termination, refusal of refunds, and reporting to authorities.

This AUP applies to everyone who accesses the Service — free users, Pro subscribers, trial users, organizations, and anyone using an API or integration we provide.

You may not submit, generate, request, or distribute through the Service any content that is illegal under the law of United Arab Emirates, your country of residence, or any jurisdiction where the content will be received, including content that infringes intellectual-property rights, defames a person, breaches confidentiality or trade-secret obligations, or violates export controls or sanctions.

You may not submit, generate, or attempt to elicit any content that sexually exploits or endangers minors. This includes any depiction, description, or instruction. We terminate offending accounts immediately, preserve evidence, and report violations to the appropriate authorities (including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children where applicable).

You may not use the Service to incite, glorify, organize, plan, or recruit for terrorism, mass violence, genocide, or any attack on a person, group, or property, nor to obtain operational instructions for weapons (including chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, or improvised explosive devices).

You may not use the Service to produce or distribute content that promotes hatred, harassment, threats, or discrimination against people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, or similar protected characteristic.

You may not use the Service to expose personal data of others without a lawful basis, to dox individuals, to facilitate stalking, or to process special categories of personal data (GDPR Art. 9) without explicit consent and a lawful basis.

You may not use the Service to create, distribute, test, or refine malware, ransomware, phishing kits, or any code or content designed to compromise systems, accounts, networks, or data integrity.

You may not use the Service to misrepresent AI-generated content as your own original work where the relevant academic, professional, or contractual rules require disclosure, including in admissions essays, examinations, dissertations, court filings, or regulated professional advice. Compliance with such rules is your responsibility.

You may not use the Service to create or distribute political disinformation, impersonate any real person or organization without authorization, generate non-consensual sexual depictions, or fabricate evidence (including testimonials, reviews, news articles, scientific results, or court documents).

You may not use the Service or any Output to train, fine-tune, evaluate, benchmark, distil, or otherwise improve any machine-learning model or AI system, nor to build a competing service. You may not extract data from the Service through scraping, automated requests, or any other systematic means.

You may not use the Service to operate spam pipelines, run review-farms, generate SEO doorway pages at scale, or otherwise produce content for systems whose primary purpose is to deceive or to manipulate search engines, marketplaces, app stores, or social platforms.

The Service is general-purpose and is not designed, tested, or warranted for use in high-risk applications, including medical diagnosis or treatment, life-support equipment, safety-critical infrastructure, employment decisions, credit decisions, insurance underwriting, law enforcement, immigration decisions, or judicial decisions. Do not use the Service for any such purpose.

You may not (a) reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code, model weights, or underlying ideas of any component of the Service; (b) circumvent or attempt to circumvent any technical limitation, rate limit, quota, authentication mechanism, paywall, or filter; (c) probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any related system without our prior written permission.

You may not create or operate more than one account to evade rate limits, monthly allowances, or any other usage restriction. You may not share an account, transfer an account, sell access to your account, or use someone else's account without their authorization.

You may not use bots, headless browsers, residential proxies, or other automated means to interact with the Service in ways that imitate human use, evade detection, or generate volumes of usage outside the normal pattern for a single person, unless expressly authorized.

You may not file chargebacks or reverse payments without first contacting us in good faith to resolve the issue. Filing fraudulent chargebacks is a material breach and may result in permanent account termination and referral for collection.

We may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, take any of the following actions for any actual or suspected violation:

• throttle or block specific Inputs or operations;
• require additional verification (such as captchas or identity checks);
• warn, suspend, or terminate accounts;
• remove content or refuse to deliver Outputs;
• refuse refunds and recover costs of abuse;
• report unlawful conduct to authorities, including child-safety and counter-terrorism agencies;
• pursue any other remedy available at law or in equity.

If we terminate your account for breach of this AUP or any other policy, you are not entitled to a refund of any unused portion of your subscription.

If you become aware of conduct on the Service that violates this AUP, please report it to support@toolsforwriting.com with as much detail as you can provide (URL, account, timestamp, screenshots if available). Reports involving child safety, imminent harm, or terrorism receive priority.

We may update this AUP from time to time, including to address new abuse patterns. The latest version and effective date are shown at the top. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
